Company History
In 1969 Larry Goff Sr. opened Ace Radiator Shop in a one bay garage in Davenport Iowa. The business consisted of himself and one helper. They focused on radiator repair and heater and automotive cooling system work.
As the years passed the business grew to two employees and moved to a two bay shop in Bettendorf, Iowa. Larry's son, Larry Jr. worked with his dad at the shop on summer breaks while growing up. After graduating high school Larry Jr. went to an auto dealership as an auto tech.
When Larry Sr. started looking towards retirement he asked if Jr. was interested in taking over the business, and he was. So in 1996 Larry Jr. came back to Ace to work with his father. Together they started taking on general auto repair work to build that side of the business for the future.
In 1997 they added two more bays to the shop and two hoists. As the years passed more employees were hired and the business continued to grow.
In 2001 Larry retired and Larry Jr. was in charge of the daily operations. Ace relocated to a larger building in 2005 with seven bays and now employs seven people.
In 2009 Ace Auto & Radiator became Ace Auto Doctor & Repair. All the same people you know and trust, with a name that better describes our expertise in the field of automotive repair. We truly are your auto doctors. The future includes more expansion and the next generation taking over.

Larry is GM, Ford, Chrysler and Toyota trained. He is ASE certified, and has been a technician for over 20 years.
